July 12 Meeting: New Topic!

We decided to change the topic for Tuesday's meeting!  Based on a number of conversations, you shared that you don't necessarily have authority over your budgets. Many of you met our speaker, Sheri Jeavons, at our chapter meeting in November and based on that successful meeting, we've asked her back. She's more than happy to shift Tuesday's  topic to better meet your needs.

Description:

When it comes to communicating with managers or clients to get your recommendations approved, the pressure is on! They have limited time, high stress, and often focus solely on the bottom-line impact of projects, recommendations, or solutions to business challenges. This leaves you with a tough job to accomplish.

The way you communicate can make or break your request. You know that you'll have a limited amount of time and need to be decisive, succinct, persuasive, and concise while communicating.

Join this session and learn:

  • The top four things people want to hear during a meeting
  • A step-by-step process to develop a communication you can deliver in 10 minutes or less on the phone, in a meeting, or on the fly
  • Specific techniques to enhance your executive presence while communicating

Attend this session to learn how to efficiently communicate the pain and the ultimate gain of your recommendation and accomplish your goals.

  • Bring your laptop or tablet.
  • During this working session, you will use the Ten-Minute Solution Process to begin developing a communication plan.
  • Back by popular demand: Sheri will coach volunteers to enhance their executive presence while experimenting with this new Ten-Minute Solution Process.
About the Speaker - Sheri Jeavons

When Sheri founded Power Presentations in 1993, she had two goals in mind. The first was to empower business professionals through personalized coaching to look and sound dynamic while communicating in any situation. The second was to create a training program that professionals would leave saying, "That was the best training I've ever attended. Ever."

Since then, Sheri and her team have successfully trained more than 22,000 professionals from a variety of Fortune 500 Companies and industry leaders such as FedEx, McDonald's, Goodyear, Qualcomm, and NASA.

She has also become a leader on the topic of virtual communications. She is known as the Virtual Communications Coach and has been selected to speak on the topic at many industry-leading training conferences
