Introducing Your Imposter Monster

By now we've all heard of the dreaded Imposter Syndrome, and many of us would probably admit to having it. In this workshop we'll discuss a new way of thinking about Imposter Syndrome - your Imposter Monster! You'll learn: What the research really says about imposterism (spoiler alert - YOU are not the problem. Environments are!) How to turn your Imposter Monster from a whisper that makes you feel small to a champion who helps you do hard things This presentation is for anyone who has felt like a phoney, like they're about to be "found out" or like they aren't good enough to be where they are.

Participants Will Learn...

  • Understand what the research really says about imposterism (spoiler alert - YOU are not the problem. Environments are!)
  • Identify why and when learners are likely to experience imposter feelings
  • Start to differentiate their imposter feelings away from an internalized, semi-permanent "syndrome" toward an understanding of how imposter feelings are often a coping mechanism resulting from external forces
